LEGO® Serious Play® Workshop at ABF: Creative collaboration for new solutions
ABF employees and managers worked with PASSION4IT in a LEGO® Serious Play® workshop to develop innovative solutions for a major company project.
A workshop that connects
When different departments in a company come together to develop joint solutions, a method is needed that promotes communication, creativity and innovation. This was precisely the aim of the LEGO® Serious Play® workshop that we, PASSION4IT GmbH, conducted together for ABF Synergie at the seminar location "Das Wohnzimmer" in Fürth. Participants from different areas of the company - both employees and managers - were actively involved in order to develop a better understanding of each other and work out new solutions.
From the theory part to the 6-stone party
After a short introduction by Florian Obermeier, the workshop started with the first practical part: the participants received their first LEGO bricks and began to create individual models. The "6-brick party" was the prelude to getting to know the playful approach to complex challenges and getting a first feel for the method.
From individual models to a common system model
Various tasks were then set: First, the participants created individual models to visualize their own ideas and perspectives. Step by step, they worked their way through group models to a large, joint system model. This process created a tangible image of the different needs, challenges and potentials within the ABF departments.
Cooperation that lasts
The special thing about LEGO® Serious Play® is that the method not only provides in-depth insights, but also creates a lasting understanding of each other. The workshop showed how new ways of thinking can emerge through creative building and how joint solutions can be developed. The positive feedback from the participants confirms this: This format brings teams together and creates sustainable added value for the company.
