€3,950 · BAFA-funded

AI delivers nothing if the foundation isn't there.

Everyone's talking about AI. Few ask whether the company is actually ready for it.

The Digital Check shows you where your processes, data, collaboration and IT really stand today, and which gaps you need to close before AI can do any meaningful work. No buzzword workshop. No tool pitch. Just a clear assessment of what your next sensible step is right now.

Problem

Without a position assessment, digital transformation gets expensive fast.

Many companies invest in tools, licences and projects without understanding their own foundation. The result: broken handoffs, friction, duplicate work, and decisions based on gut feeling rather than facts.

BAFA funding

Up to 80% subsidy on your consulting.

PASSION4IT is registered as a consulting firm with BAFA, Germany's Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (consultant ID 222542). Through the federal program "Förderung von Unternehmensberatungen für KMU", consulting costs of up to €3,500 per engagement are subsidized — as a direct, non-repayable grant.

50%
Subsidy in the former West German states, Berlin, and the Leipzig region — up to €1,750.
80%
Subsidy in the former East German states plus the Lüneburg and Trier regions — up to €2,800.
  • Eligible: small and medium-sized enterprises and liberal professions under the EU SME definition, based or with a branch in Germany.
  • Up to five funded consulting engagements per company through the end of 2026, with a maximum of two per calendar year.
  • Applications are submitted online via the BAFA platform and must be filed before the consulting starts — the offer and consulting contract are only signed after approval.
  • We guide you through the entire application process — from filing to the final proof of use.

Whether your project qualifies is something we clarify in the first conversation. Review and approval rest with BAFA.

Why companies start with us.

Because they don't want a feel-good analysis. They want clarity — even when it's uncomfortable.

FAQs

What exactly is the Digital Check?

The Digital Check is a digital position assessment for your company. We look at different areas such as infrastructure, collaboration, applications and governance. Comparing your situation against best practice and our own experience, we work out a roadmap and next steps for your individual digital journey together with you.

What concrete results do I get in the end?

A detailed documentation of the results including a proposed roadmap and next steps for your company. Take a look at the sample check to see what that looks like in practice.

What does the Digital Check cost?

The Digital Check has a fixed price of €3,950. The scope is defined up front, there is no billing by effort and no supplementary invoices. With BAFA funding the own contribution drops to €2,200 in the western German states and €1,150 in the eastern states, depending on location.

How does the Digital Check work?

You receive two questionnaires from us. One for IT/management and one for the business units. The goal is to capture both the opinion and status of IT and management as well as the "digital transformation thoughts" of your business units.

How long does the whole process take?

After an initial alignment call, the questionnaires are made available to you. Filling them in takes about an hour. We then evaluate the questionnaires and create the results presentation. In between, a few clarifying questions and smaller alignments are usually needed. From our experience, a Digital Check runs for around 4 – 6 weeks.

Do I or my team need to prepare?

No preparation is required on your side.

Does the Check come with a commitment to implement together with PASSION4IT?

No. We give you recommendations and a direction. Whether and how you take that path is entirely up to you. Of course, we're glad when we can support you on specific topics.

How is our data and internal information handled?

Results and answers are only available to PASSION4IT and to you.

Is the Check vendor- and software-independent?

Yes, we are fundamentally neutral and want the best solution for the client. Naturally we can give you recommendations and tips based on our experience.

How can I continue working with you after the Check?

Depending on the findings and the next steps, there are several ways to continue with us. This can be project management, support with software selection, consulting or training for process optimisation (e.g. with M365), cyber security topics, or we accompany you on AI initiatives.

Is the Digital Check eligible for BAFA funding, and how large is the grant?

Yes, through the programme for funding management consulting for SMEs. One detail matters for your own calculation: the assessment base is capped at EUR 3,500 per engagement, so the rate is not applied to the full fee. Up to 50% in the western German states gives a maximum grant of EUR 1,750, up to 80% in the eastern states a maximum of EUR 2,800. PASSION4IT is registered with BAFA, consultant number 222542.

When do I have to apply for funding?

Before consulting starts, and the application must be approved before we begin. Nothing is funded retroactively. The programme ends on 31 December 2026; because processing takes time, the practical cut-off is autumn 2026 rather than December.

What is the difference between the free AI Readiness Check and the Digital Check?

The AI Readiness Check is a free self-assessment and gives a first orientation within minutes. The Digital Check is a guided engagement over two to four weeks, assesses digital maturity across five dimensions and ends with a prioritised roadmap as a basis for decisions.

If you want clarity, start with the Digital Check.

An honest look at the status quo saves you time, money and unnecessary debates later.
