Modern IT and ecology - no contradiction, on the contrary

IT companies and active environmental protection. That often doesn't seem to go together any more than Christian Lindner and the Greens. At least that's what people think. Today's young entrepreneurs in particular have not only professional skills but also a deep understanding of ecological interrelationships and the necessary action. Passion4IT Managing Director Christian Kirsch is no exception.

Via the Planetly platform, he has offset 32 tons of CO2 emissions this year via 200%. This is done by retiring climate certificates from a selected portfolio. Simply put, Planetly converts more CO2 into oxygen than Passion4IT produces.

The goal that many cannot yet mentally reconcile: Simplifying the world of work through digitalization and keeping and shaping the world a better place to live. "Ecological awareness is deeply rooted in Passion4IT's DNA." The 39-year-old not only lives this himself, but also exemplifies it. Perhaps it is his passion for the mountains, the Bavarian Forest, where he is firmly rooted, or simply being a father with an eye on future generations.

Because that's not all.

"We donate more than 1% of our annual turnover to non-profit environmental organizations that our employees are allowed to choose. For example, we have sponsored an orangutan, an orca and a humpback whale. We have also purchased and protected more than 3,000 m2 of wilderness in Canada and the Peruvian rainforest through a foundation," enthuses Kirsch and you immediately believe that he is not whitewashing, but really wants to make a difference. Whether it's sustainability in the field of IT or ecology, both are extremely important to him.

Just passion!
